Olympic

Canceled July 23, 2011

When we arrived at Olympic National Park we took advantage of the clear visibility and our first hike was Hurricane Ridge Trail. The view, deer, and marmots made this hike one of our favorites of all time.

Next we entered into the Hoh Rain forest. The lush vegetation, clear water, and moss covered trees and boulders created an environment that we had never experienced before. Here nature and the air are unspoiled.

We wanted to take an opportunity to view the Pacific Ocean while we ate, relaxed and slept. Therefore, we stayed inside the park at the Kahaloch lodge. Alisa cooked the best meal of the vacation. Winston ran into the cold ocean water. In addition, as the sun disappeared over the waves, we had a cozy fire on the beach.

Finally, we hiked the Lovers Loop trail in the Sol Duc hot springs area. This diverse park is one of our favorites. It has so much to offer. We plan on taking advantage of this protected place again soon.

  1. Definitely one of my favorite parks as well. The Sol Duc Falls hike was magical and the coast was breathtaking. We can’t wait to go back.
