North Cascades

Canceled July 22, 2011

The high jagged peaks, ridges, slopes, and countless waterfalls help define this mountain kingdom as North Cascades National Park. When we arrived to hike the Cascade Pass trail, we witnessed the power of this place. We could not tell where the snowfields ended as billowy white clouds blended like a masterpiece of artwork.

We had to hike uphill over packed snow until we thought it was too dangerous to continue. We challenged ourselves and then we walked back to our car. The rural landscape of Washington State was wonderful to drive through. The night before, we stayed in a bed and breakfast lodge outside of the park.
