Crater Lake, the deepest lake in America, was the seventh and final park during our summer vacation. It also was the most picturesque. The reflections of cliffs, rocks, and trees on the sapphire blue water were unbeatable. We started our exploration of this attractive terrain by hiking the Mt. Scott Trail. It was an arduous ascent.
The next day it was Bill’s birthday. As a present, we took a boat ride to Wizard Island. We hiked to the summit over several black molten rocks and the boys through snow balls for 41 seconds at their Dad to celebrate his day. That evening we rejoiced by watching the sun set.
